DAG.TREK — a guide to mountain Dagestan
// Goal
Remove the fear of a mountain trip. Someone who has never been to Dagestan does not know whether they are fit enough or what to pack.
// Brief
Build the landing page not as a tour catalogue but as answers to the four questions asked before departure: can I manage it, what do I bring, how do the roads work, will there be a thrill.
How we built it
Travel landing pages usually open with views and prices while leaving the guest's questions unanswered. We inverted the logic: four numbered blocks appear in exactly the order the doubts arise.
First, fitness level: from easy panoramic walks along the turquoise Sulak Canyon and tea in peach orchards to trekking up to the ghost village of Gamsutl, with a promise to match the route to the traveller's pace. Second, equipment and climate, built on the rule of layering — the heat of the Sarykum dune gives way to fresh wind on the Khunzakh plateau. Third, locations and logistics: switchbacks, transfers and the golden hour for photographs in the Karadakh gorge or at the Troll's Tongue. Fourth, the thrill: a speedboat run through the Sulak Canyon.
Stages of delivery
01 · Fitness level
From panoramic walks by the Sulak Canyon to the trek to Gamsutl, with the route matched to pace and expectations.
02 · Equipment and climate
The rule of layering and how weather behaves in the gorges: from Sarykum's heat to the wind on the Khunzakh plateau, footwear included.
03 · Locations and logistics
Switchbacks, comfortable transfers and the golden hour for shooting in the Karadakh gorge and at the Troll's Tongue.
04 · Thrill and adrenaline
A speedboat run through the Sulak Canyon as the trip's separate emotional argument.
Programmes and booking
The tour programme section and enquiry form, closing preparation on the choice of a specific route.
Outcome
A landing page that works like a pre-trip consultation: four blocks clear the main doubts, and only then does the visitor move on to tour programmes and booking.
Every block closes on its own action — match a programme, get the packing checklist, see the locations — so the guest always has a next step.
